![]()
In this area I would like to open a discussion about islands and their energy strategies. To get this ball rolling as an open subject. The Committee of SIF are proposing a mini conference to be held on Orkney, probably in April 08. One idea is to have as the theme ‘Energy’ Most islands have some form of energy issue, and some have significant energy projects like wind, woodfuel or tidal electricity production. A possible outcome of an Energy Conference may be to look at a policy to make ‘The best use of our energy resources? What other projects could we be looking at? Does anyone have ideas of ‘good practice’ from their island that we can publish on the website?Alan
